• The Council is proud to announce that serafina has been given the gold belt of the city and now functions as the city's "second girl" Among her responsibilities is running New User Orientations.

• The Harvest Festival attracted a record number of members for a single session. We expect the next public function to have an even higher turnout.

• Crimson Talender nicely survived Hurricane Floyd. Our members living in the southeastern US are all fine.

• The Crimson Talender web scrolls is being updated. In the help pages, look for a page coming from sulis on Gorean weights and measures, a Gorean calendar page from telma and already posted is a page on flowers and plants by serafina.

• New rooms have been added! Check out the art_gallery, loft, and citychamber. If you wish to write one they need to be 75 characters wide by max of 8 lines long. Mail them to Baren_touhk@hotmail.com and look for new rooms as they get posted.

• New poems have been added to the poetry page.

• new information and help pages have been posted to the webscrolls.shauri wrote two new rooms "cylinder" and "parlor"

• Some new Citizen Roleplayers to make appearances in our city is a Roundship who's crew interact at the Docks. And Pip, a droll jester type, who seems to have brought some smiles here and there.

• Kajuralia highlights include services to slaves given by many recognized Freepersons. Checkout the Kajuralia Log for the juicy details.

  Names of slaves attending as mistresses for that day were taken. Many scurried out as the waterclock signaled the end of the reverse-roles.

• The Ubar grants credit to all that bring visitors here (500 credits) or help newbies in the portal (300 credits), plus has been paying generously to others that have performed various services to the city

• Request:--please do not use the Crimson_Tavern, Talender_Inn, or home_stone as an entry point into the talker unless you plan to STAY once you log in. Slaves are reminded to use the slave_gathering for exit and entry. Freepersons could use entry sites such as the Ship, Dock, Portal, Tarn or simply the Freepersons_Hall.

• The room boards are being used more, you are missing fun if you do not read them

• The mailing list and web EZboard are seeing more use too, get involved in the discussions

• The website is constantly being updated. If you have contributions, contact aurora.

Humor

A traveller was passing through from Schendi north to Argentum and stopped by a village paga tavern for the night. Within he saw many fellows and slaves rolling about in mirth. On occaision, one of the patrons would call out a number, "117!" and the whole crowd's laughter renewed itself to boisterous levels. Soon after another patron would call out, "87!" aagain to a hail of laughter in response.
Confused, the traveller asked a man in leather aprons what the numbers were all about.
"Well," says the leather worker, "This is a small village, and we've all heard these jokes so many times that instead of going to the trouble of telling them in their entirety, we simply call out the number of the joke." Now the traveller thought this odd, but it seemed to make the people happy. So in keeping with the festive atmosphere he slams down his paga bowl and shouts out "126!"
The entire tavern quiets down.
Bewildered, the traveller turns again to his neighbor and asks what went wrong.
The leather worker shrugged, "Some people can tell a joke. Some people can't"

A termite walks into the tavern and asks, "is the bar tender here?"

A member of the Caste of Entertainers comes into the tavern on on a leash he leads a tarsk and upon his shoulder sits a vulo. Sitting by a low table he calls out to the tavern keeper, "Paga!"
The tarsk leans up against the table and shouts out, "Kalana!"
Impressed, the tavern keeper say, "I've never seen a tarsk that could talk."
The Entertainer sits back and drawls, "he can't... the vulo is a ventriloquist."

A guardsman of Ar is traveling aboard of Cosian ship bound for Lydius. Being very bored and finding no one to play Stones or Kaissa with him, he turns his recreation to humor and approaches some idle deckhands, "Have you heard the amusing tale of the Cosian merchant and the kailluk bride?"
the crewman frown and look to the bold guardsman of Ar, "Before you speak this joke, we feel it is only right to warn you that we are of Cos, the Captain is of Cos, the entire crew is of Cos."
The guardsman considers these words, then says, "All right, I'll tell it very slowly."
