CT Commands and Shortcuts

Citizens come from everywhere. As most people are aware, Crimson Talender is a port of Iron Rose, and many of our citizenry originally started (or also have personas) at Iron Rose and are thus generally intimate with the commands used there. But that's not the case for everyone, and even a seasoned veteran of IR can pick up a new hint or two to make their experience more flowing and easy and therefore enjoyable.

(Editor's Note: In order to set commands or examples off from the rest of the text, quotation marks have been used. The quaotation marks should not be actually used when trying out these shortcuts online)

Most people are familiar with the basics of communicating actions and speach both within the room and to other rooms, the commands being ".say", ".semote", ".tell", and ".semote" but did you know about the shortcuts?

Most commands on CT (and its parent port, Iron Rose) have shortcuts. Type ".help" for a listing of commands available and then ".help for the specifics on that command. Knowledge of the shortcuts often make for a smoother experience online.

Finally, here is a summary taken directly from the help files concerning the commands covered above:

Say
.say <text>
Displays the text to the room. Typing text without .say has the same effect.

Emote
.emote <action>
Sends an action or thought to the rest of the room.
example: .emote smiles
abbreviation: ;

Tell
.tell <username> <text>
Sends the user your text privately. .t alone will review your tells.
example: .tell gryphon are you hungry?
abbreviation: , (comma)

Semote
.semote <name> <action>
Sends an action to the specified user.
example: .semote gryphon waves.
abbreviation: /gryphon waves.

Echo
.echo <text>
Echoes the text without displaying your name. Dungeon Masters can see who echoes the text.
abbreviation: >
